A small charity with a big heart doing the very best for all the children of our British Armed Forces.
Little Troopers is a registered charity supporting all military children who have parent(s) serving in our British Armed Forces, regular or reserve.
These children often face unique challenges including frequent house and school moves, as well as regular periods of separation from their serving parent(s) for varying lengths of time due to exercises, training, operations and other service commitments.
As a charity, Little Troopers ensures our British Armed Forces children and their families have access to child-focused support, providing fundamental resources and initiatives.
Little Troopers was founded to empower parents; to enable you, no matter where in the world you are based, to easily access specific resources and initiatives to help you support your little troopers at home.
Living military life can bring unique challenges; moving home, moving school, periods of separation and deployments. Here you can find lots of hands on advice, fantastic resources and ways to get through those challenges.
Little Troopers at School project aims to educate schools; Primary and Secondary, about the unique needs, through circumstance, of military children and make available easily accessible resources to you.
We want to ensure all military children get fair and consistent support within their education setting wherever that may be, for all circumstances and however many times they move schools.
Little Troopers in Healthcare is a dedicated area where healthcare professionals can access useful information to better support military children in your care.
The resources can be adapted for a range of healthcare settings, including children’s hospitals and wards, paediatric outpatient facilities, children’s centres, GP surgeries, social work services and more.
Military children move home and school frequently, with every aspect of their daily lives changing, from their home and friends to teachers and environment. Little Troopers wants to provide them with a familiar space at school that helps them feel grounded.
By formalising Little Troopers Clubs, we aim to give military children reassurance and comfort in education settings. Wherever they move in the country, they can leave one Little Troopers Club and join another, finding the same supportive environment.
All Together is a programme connecting military children in person with others they don’t know but share similar life experiences with. Via All Together we connect forces children through adventure days, online workshops and residential family reconnection weekends. Connecting military children in this way brings a real sense of belonging and identity while validating their experiences of being a military child, with others who understand.
The tri-service Little Troopers Therapy Programme offers free one-to-one psychotherapy sessions in a programme and community therapy groups for older forces children who feel particularly impacted specifically by the challenges that military life can bring, such as having a parent deployed or moving home and school frequently.
